Yeah, yo, and we are back yet again for episode 98 98 dude working up there only two more episodes and it will be our hundredth episode Which we are super excited about oh yeah, but not quite as excited as we are to get the scoop from the plug Dude the plug what plug are we talking about we are actually talking about Dylan Sattler from the Nismo parts plug Oh, yeah, and this guy has Source parts for people from east to west north to south He's even source parts for people in Japan believe it or not that sounds crazy that does sound a little bit crazy But hey, hey, you're the man. I guess that's what you can do right? Yeah, absolutely so Yeah, we're gonna get right into it with Dylan. I mean, he's gonna really let us know how you go from You know a Nissan parts guy to the literal plug and everything in between yeah, hell yeah, let's do it All right, this is episode 98 with Dylan Sattler the Nismo parts plug And we're back with Dylan Sattler the Nismo parts plug what up man Going on guys how are you? How's everything? How's your evening pretty good man We're definitely a pump to get out here and and get you on the podcast and just kind of pick your brain a little bit You know, I mean a guy like you who's been in the industry for as long as you have we know you got some gems for us You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, I appreciate that I love to share some information with you guys and you guys have a lot of questions a lot of your viewers Probably have questions regarding all these parts whether they're Nissan Nismo There's tons of info to go over the state of Nissan and Nissan Motorsports and what's coming next? Plenty of information to go over with you guys excited to be here. I've actually been Listening to the podcast the brush up on see what you guys have been doing. So I'm a I started following I'm really Appreciate the be here. Awesome man. And so you know We you know Aaron and I of course we've been following along on your progress for quite a while But in case anybody listening doesn't know. Let's just get to the nitty gritty like who's Dylan Sattler? What's the Nismo parts plug like what's the scoop? What's the scoop well real simple Nismo Parks plug is a website where you can source genuine Nissan Nissan performance parts We deal specifically with customers to help them find these items rather than just have you in a sea of parts with no information to go off of We like to add a custom approach to it. So the same way if you were calling up your dealer and looking for information You're going to get a professional response Pretty much knowledgeable into the Japanese market for these parts It's one of those things where there's very few people who have the ability to also search these items through the market through a official Nissan chart charter and I'm excited to do it. I've been doing this for some time now at Nissan and more recently for customers friends and it's been expanding largely worldwide Wow, and so pretty much like you are saying you what were like the Nissan parts guy at the local dealership or what? Yeah, so if we were going to go back, you know to that I started With the love of Nissan way before I was even able to drive but when I was going to school. I'm like a UTI graduate in Xton PA and then also Nissan and Infinity Technician trained in North Carolina at NASCAR technical institute So there was a lot of I read that I went into this I mean I was at the time for to get like $10 an hour still so it didn't mean much but overall learning those type of Things whether it was automotive mechanical or the way that Nissan just works on their systems really help mold me into that But once I started working for the dealership That's when I really got my fingers on everything with the motorsports division and really started to tap into that in early 2011 2012 Wow, so I mean yeah, you do you got some time on you for sure I mean you look young man. So I was pretty surprised when you started saying that Yes, I mean I thought you were like 26 I will be 34 October 13th, so not bad Take it. Well, we share a birthday dude. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah, yeah October 13th. That's pretty wild. Oh, yeah So birthday's right around there. I'm planning on doing a discount for people. Maybe that will you know get some people to go to the website plug it up You know get some extra orders maybe to go out to my girlfriend something nice, you know, oh yeah You heard that ladies in gentleman October 13th. Let's get this man out to dinner All right, man, so I mean pretty much what made you realize like There was an opportunity for you to distribute these parts and kind of Help this niche market that wasn't being served maybe as well as it could be it could have been you know Yeah, no, that's a good question. I Want to say it wasn't immediate for me. I want to say I was slow off the mark to do something but I've sought early on Even back in 2009 2010 when I was doing my Nissan training. I was already in Into cars, you know into the enthusiast world that had an S13 and a 300 ZX already had a hard-body pickup So I was already experimenting in that region. I had you know, I'm closer to like 17 18 personal cars I've had now and majority of them have been Nissan's So even even back then When I was looking up my own items I was able to realize like this this market's Available for people and there wasn't really an easy way to go about you know socializing and and and referencing that so At the time of all the older heads will know Zilvia.net which was used very often for the forms of S chassis build Z anything Nissan Yeah, you guys know so you you've been around for some time and I've had some builds on there Not really understanding what it would snowball to I had a 92 240 SX unknown miles K.A. And I wound up doing everything parts shop max Trying to get into the drift scene here down in club loose in English town Around that same time I stumbled upon the motorsports division parts while Working in the parts department and saw how many items we really could get and at the time Pricing was really good like you can get some certain things that would be unmentionable today I mean my type X S13 spoiler brand new is about three hundred dollars brand new in box when you're available You can't you can't even come close to that use for like 11 or so. So a lot of these items When we started posting up in the group had a lot of people you know message saying hey Can you help us with your car or with my car? I'd like to get some parts if you can you can help it source it which you know easily could do can do we just didn't have a readily accessible way to put all the items on the website so once we got everything on Shopify it really helped unite All the different kind of media social media that people would like to contact us on and that's when we really started to see the snowball effect of people Taking notice to what once you put a name to it. It really became more official And and the name pretty much came as quickly as A day or so I came up with it and under under under a day and it just stuck Yeah, I mean Props to that because when I first saw it I was like oh shit It's the plug like it was just it's just that you know like especially in our generation right like if you went and talked about the plug to a boomer They'd be like what what do you mean? You know, but to anybody in our generation that automatically means you are the dude with the heat Yeah, you're the end if it's back I mean even you know over here in my town and Union Even going to school we had a very large high school. I mean I have three thousand kids in my high school All the same time between freshman and senior year and There is a lot of things that you know, you wanted you wanted a car You need to make some money if you weren't you know doing some other you know legit work But it wasn't always feasible. So I used to start even selling candy, you know back in high school just the trying I was going to Costco buying packs of candy and then selling them to afford shoes or whatever the next step was for me The automotive part when I was working at Nissan and and parts it wasn't something I ever saw like hey There's gonna be a lot of people that are directly needing all these motorsports items But the influence you know these cars have had over the last 10 15 years have just grown exponentially so many people are Enthusiast now who weren't even five 10 years ago Yeah, no, I agree and you know some people maybe thought that they were like like They thought that cars were cool, but over the past 10 you know five 10 years They've actually purchased a car and now they've started hunting and now they found Nismo parts plug and they've ordered that rear badge or they've Or you know and so yeah, they've actually become enthusiast instead of just fans, you know, which there is a difference Yeah, I know Aaron had some really Yeah, yeah, so Basically, I'm I'm a guy that's into rare type parts in the cool little niche things What are some of the rarest parts you've acquired and what do you think has been the hardest part to come across? Oh, I had to load a questionnaire and you know how you knew one of those there's a way I think he heard it. He had it prepared. Yeah, so As far as some of like rare parts, I mean as far as things I've been getting in some things Early on we're not rare that are now rare so it's kind of hard to say which is the rarest right? But there tons of items You know that we're one-offs that they didn't do too much production For so lower numbers which makes them a little bit more rare I would say one of the more rare brand new old stock items that was available through motorsport When I was still working at Nissan was a very specific S14 Koki Nismo Rear spoiler it was a Nismo spoiler set and they sold the wing stands and the wing blades separately At the time when we were referencing gang the actual stands They couldn't complete the kit because it was opened. It shouldn't have been opened It was gonna be used on one of their demo vehicles at motorsport. They decided to scrap the project for whatever reason They couldn't complete the project so I got the carbon fiber wing blade and I'm missing the ends One one side. I was like I can't do anything with this. There's there's no way and Luckily, you know, bless her heart Brian Brianna Manning Who worked at motorsport back in the day? She actually found the other portion of that kit and sent it over to us and I was able to secure it I had some photos back in the day. I wish I took more because it was super, you know, I've always seen one in person Yeah I Mean we have a bunch of weird little niche things. I actually pulled one out right before we got on here This one was actually gifted to me. So this is actually a Nikon. Let me say you can see this Oh, so this this right here is a Nissan Prince Odorizer, so this is over 40 years old and this is just Something from Prince Motorsports for Prince, which was then later pushed into Nissan They were purchased from them and that's how the skyline even came about through Prince That's pretty well a couple other things like small small optional items like I have the Ken Mary vest like the vest from the actual Yeah, it's weird stuff. It's just things that you know more recently have come across that people were okay I'm getting rid of I can make some good money on this And I realize you know, there's gonna be people in the US who want some of this you know nostalgic stuff whether it's Authentic jackets or magazines like the Nissan SEMA that they normally don't see here Something to give back to the culture that's just not parts because there's There's people who purchase these items that don't even have the cars They just like the lore they love the collection of this the same way, you know, it was any other type of hobby so When you really get into it, there's there's tons of rare items. I personally saw something a little different During the time when Motorsport USA was still giving us Pretty much sheets of information for these parts About 6600 items were available through the Motorsport division after Myself and some other people who were looking up these items They got pushed into into their division Once they got pushed here they were available for US sale the other items were not so those items are Like things that you can't you can't get any longer we have parts in Japan that are restricted and other items that are already here That were from Japan that made their way to the US So there's a lot of things like last minute and maybe I can have him showed anyone this item is actually over here But I just don't want to get the messages about seeing if I want to sell it because I'm not gonna sell it Here's probably the last one that came into the states it was already discontinued and somehow came in through a back order It is a a dry carbon part and is made for The 34 GTR so Yeah, it's one of those type of item You know still brand new in box. Let me see if I can if I can show you here walk around a little So I just kind of want to show you what we got going on here. Don't these are the floors that you see don't don't worry about them right now They're a little messy So you know just a little bit Yeah, so a little bit in sight keep a little everything all over the place, but there is some organ Yeah, so it's all organized between a to Z and then one to zero in pretty much the same order that Nissan will do it everything that I've I've applied from Nissan is pretty much done here in the shop, but this item right here Some of you guys will know it by the actual Is that the food? It is the food These spec dry carbon rear diffuser brand new in box those items You know as far as gathering them now you'd have to only go through the heritage program Which is an item now that you're even trying to order through Japan is Not necessarily just readily available. It's usually made to order and a little bit more information the company that used to make it benetech with a more factory is no longer in contract for them So to get one of those items they'll tell you it's on back order, but you won't see another production one so There's a lot of things that transpired over the last four or five years between items that were easily available maybe we get a couple in a Year It depending if people are looking to purchase them to now you can't find them anywhere and if you do It's going to sell quickly for usually a very Outstanding price wow, so yeah It's like that Actually just got this gem in here. I know you may not see it by part number, but that is the S15 spec are bumper oh wow Yeah, so there's a lot of like cool like little niche things I have here Some are saved for my own personal 34 So you know I purchased them for myself knowing I don't put on the website to flaunt it to put it in people's faces I want to make sure they understand that you know what they're getting It's still an OEM product not everything is available But you know, there's still plenty of like rare items that we still get and we still have Once we saw a lot of the items for the 32 start to make its way heritage or discontinued we Immediately started already working on the 34s and the 33 some of the items that we could get Also the S15 Yeah, you know you see as you work with Nissan and you see what happens with motor sport and how they they do the rollouts of products and the difficulties they've had you kind of start to see what you have to prepare yourself for so being a little bit more Prepare because of the failures that I have seen Definitely set the tone for making sure we had parts during even the times where COVID you know There was no items available in the states who take 16 plus weeks So I think that was it was very important an easy move for us So okay, I got a question man. So here's the thing like you know Dylan back in the day at NTI right he he was Doing his thing getting his education Did Dylan back then ever imagine that he'd be literally Shipping these parts that are in such high demand across the world not just the country now across the world Do you think that Dylan back at NTI could have ever imagined that? No, not a chance. I'll tell you I had no no plan For me to get to this extent. I just knew I was passionate about cars and I really enjoyed the Nissan You know segment of all this I had the choice when I was still in PA deciding if I wanted to go More down the Toyota path or the Nissan Toyota I could have stayed in PA Nord Carolina would have been a whole another adventure. I wasn't used to especially I was what 17 18 at the time. I didn't have any family there There was no like programs to just immediately you know live on campus that didn't exist um If I'm being as you know open as possible. I went down there without the ability to even have a spot to live The person I was opposed to room with dropped out a week before I was supposed to move down until and Well, yeah, you know, but you had to do what I had to do. I wound up Ganging contact with a friend Matt Pleaven he actually works for Penske racing shout out Matt and his family When I was down north Carolina they took care of me. They sent me up with a place to stay. I slept in the couch But you know, it was still it was it's what need to be done in order to push myself if I wanted it that bad I need to go there and do it I applied myself. I really did. I think I finished off, you know, I mean It's a automotive school, you know, sometimes it's not that too hard. Sometimes the teachers they get you some leniency's but These guys down in in North Carolina the NASCAR technical side. It's not a joke. So I think um also and done wound up Finishing with like a 3.92 GPA there all the you know stew and other classes. We didn't ask our engine building which um We wound up being Ford FAC and I wound up taking that uh back for the Nissan guys. So it was really excited about it I felt in a way like there was a lot of energy pushed into my realm when I was down there a lot of things that could have went wrong I even um One day I woke up and I had a kidney stone And it was I didn't have health insurance. I went up going to the hospital. It wound up costing me a lot of money and I still had to go to school because if I missed any time I would have been deducted points from my overall grade and I didn't want that to be the case um So I manned up, you know, when inside we were working on a 350Z six-speed trans that day Taking it apart rebuilding it all the fun stuff um the TTLs in the class were great. I really Do appreciate everything that they taught me All the Nissan training really did push me to this next level to convey the type of the service or the professionalism You may see when I'm talking to customers without that I would just be some guide just trying to sell you Some parts he's he saw that someone else wanted to sell, you know, I um I pretty much live and breathe Nissan for the longest now. I don't try and you know Push it out to the public. I like to be more in the background I want to make sure that the customers are getting their parts and um that they're correct and we give good information With that with these OEM items That's a that's a good mindset to have because a lot of people Want to just put out the look at me look at me look. I got these parts. I got these parts But then you'll see, you know these reviews that those parts didn't make it to those people Or not for weeks or months even because the people were not focused on that There are so many scammers now. I mean like I've seen it I didn't really promote too much through Facebook is a lot of Instagram stuff, but we've had to make Changes over the years like any other business would Uh to make sure people are safe when they're making purchases As far as like watermarking our images so that people aren't stealing our photos and saying hey I have this for like $300 for a quarter panel I've had all these experiences with with customers getting potentially ripped off from other people either Pretending to do something like us or you've been on marketplace or some of these Facebook groups now that everything is just a A robot or some guy trying to scam you, you know with minimal photos trying to sell you some of the rarest parts You've ever seen for the best deal you've never seen and it's just like it should be obvious But sometimes we let uh let it get to our heads So I like to make sure people understand what their games and do themselves into When they when they start even looking into purchasing a right hand drive car whether it's a Sylvia skyline z32 fair lady Um all those things are super important Yeah What do you get so yeah, I got a question man Just like you man. I've been a Nissan guys since way back in the day. You know, I got my first 240 in 2008 I believe um, oh nice Yes, and one thing I noticed about Nissan is that There there's always been kind of a disconnect I mean what do you think the disconnect between Nissan and its customers is and how do you think they can solve it because I mean you see people asking for you know these are 34 parts are 33 parts And like they can't get them. Why not, you know I I think it definitely another little because you got great questions Aaron I think You know if they if they wind up hearing this they're gonna they're gonna not like me anymore But they definitely do have a disconnect there has been that since I want to say Maybe mid 2000s and then therefore after um, you know whether it was a change of CEO and who is you know in charge of what models were still in production and where they were going You know, what kind of funds were we're available We saw and grew up with majority of these Really cool Nissan race cars even from like 80 85 all the way to early 2000s And we saw a generation of cars that were built in a technological Advanced air for Japan. So they had plenty of spending to you know put into R&D for these vehicles and making really good I think what we are seeing now is such a changing environment and world that we live in that not everyone is thinking about oh In the car needs to be sports oriented um A lot of crossover pairs are what's cool or miles per gallon and it's cool and all to be able to you know save money that way But you start to take away the soul from what Nissan was originally Doing with their early 90s models and a lot of us have attacked that um I think I started seeing a lot of that kind of disconnect um around the time I started working for Nissan and You know at the same time they were I believe one of the big things they were noticeable for was the fourth largest in innovation for a company at at the moment in like 2010 2011 new models um Plenty of support plenty of customer loyalty I think where we start to see a decline is when they started doing all these extra like gimmicky add-ons like Did you color studio where you can you can purchase this like you know mirror caps and different color You know just like you know weird except reads and just really didn't connect with the customers on on a On any kind of on any level um We were speaking about this before and There's so many other contenders who either entered the entry models sports car or or hot hatch segment And Nissan really isn't anywhere to be found although they decided to cancel their maximum which was their longest running Ford or sport sports car um, you know for almost 50 years They got rid of a lot of popular models they had issues with the CVT the first like in 2000 2000 hard maxa when that CVT came out that was downfall Yeah, that's what started it Yeah, it really it really was i mean They they they they they had a good idea, but it was geared towards more of a higher end like luxury type of type of owner and for the most part early 90s late 90s that wasn't what they were conveying But they had a different um switch up and and goals as they entered into the 2000s with carless go and then being CEO Their merger with Renault were alliance with Renault Um, I really set set the tone for what they were putting out as far as work um, I think they definitely missed some opportunities with A lot of these cars that are 25 years old now You see you guys are owners. I supply parts. I mean they are even they're bigger than us Completely they they know a little bit more. Yes, the sports car is a small segment in their a math in their eyes But there's so much riding on this portion Uh, so many people love these cars and I think they're not tapping into the the the culture to really Get that on the new vehicle so that people would be interested in them You're not seeing a a select demographic of people you know certainly go to Nissan just because of a sports car 13370 and zr 34 the the new z very similar price points are still pretty high r 35 is still expensive car And now with them no longer production for the 2025 model year you leave this gap and I really think if the same time these people who are looking to get into 13 the 14 and especially the 15 Sylvia Because they're now 25 years legal should have an option to get themselves into a brand new Sylvia s 16 whatever you call it Uh, we've seen some rumors, but they're not hitting the tarp audience. They're they're saying it may be an electric vehicle Or they come out with no aura and how many people are really looking to have a crossover The drive extremely fast with their kid in the background and in the back of the car You know, it's just a weird situation of of um components I mean I've never felt more goofy driving around in a Nissan marano cross cabular lay Don't get through We had extra time when we had extra time I'd go with um This guy Doug he was the the manager of service and parts manager And we just go for a quick drive and one of these cars that need to be test drove you know for an issue And we ran to you know cruising around the town in a uh in a cross cabular lay just to see if we can replicate this uh This concern and we were just getting the craziest looks and you just feel like something's not right something's off a lot of mechanical issues A design it doesn't really extend to too many people that we're looking for it um I think they definitely have a disconnect. They want to fix this. They have people there already utilizing In in their culture on social media right now they couldn't come to cut some of their car meets they can come to english town They can see what these guys are doing with 240s what People who are trying to get into this motor sport who can't because they can't find a nest chassis You know for a reasonable price or you know, they're going to they're going to other chassis is the The core vets become very uh popular at the 350z always An easy car to jump in to go drift um But I think what this does is not having the bill you have an entry-level sports car doesn't allow people for the next generation Getting into these cars or feeling this to that logic about these cars doesn't give them the opportunity to fit their market They may go somewhere else um like Toyota would they have plenty of vehicles that meet entry-level sports needs And I think that's where Nissan's really a disconnected Yeah, I could agree with that like like we're kind of talking about um, you know yesterday was Somebody who's paying let's just say 50,000 for an s15 spec are They could have been that buyer for the 42,000 dollar s16 if Nissan was hitting that you know Instead they're not making this money because people are spending it on a car that's already been purchased from them And they've already gotten their money from I definitely Would say that they're really missing the mark on that and then on top of that that same car, you know the s15 You know they're making parts for it But they're not making a lot and they're not making the cool stuff like all the arrows type stuff and all the sought after stuff that people want So it's like also a disconnect with on the part side too. I feel like yeah Yeah, there are definitely some item Parts wise for the s15. I mean these guys are gonna need they you know once again if being an entry-level car They were pretty bad with the sheet metal in late 90s Nissan was close to going you know Losing it all so they they kind of the quality control kind of went down especially on s15 sheep metal I've had customers picking up brand new cars to them To get parts coming to us and then realizing the cars they bought you know have dolex whist she is there they're in poor condition Not everyone Is going to have the same reference information that we had from back in the day through the forums were working on Multiple cars when they were cheap now they're expensive People have this information like via youtube or you know whatever they're they're they're looking to gain knowledge But you really got to get under the car and you have to you have to be there you have to see these things first hand To really understand them And I think you know especially if someone's trying to get into you know An s15 right now a spec are I mean we've seen them we've sold them. I've helped people I've helped Jimmy Oaks grab that black s15 from one of my friend Will who was a customer Who's been grabbing parts forever from us Yeah, yeah, so we came to the house before we had the this warehouse Um, and that kind of snowballed a lot of you know other people finding out about it We've we've done some stuff, you know I'll touch lightly on this with like you know Jimmy LZ Rottle uh Randy from eliminate Tommy Fia and a whole bunch of other shops, you know And we wouldn't be able to do this without their continued support You know their customers understand They want their their parts brand new and good condition I sometimes have the shop contacting us and then also the customer contacting us and they both chose to come here because they know Um, we're pretty knowledgeable when it comes to these items and we we we stock a lot we we saw this coming in advance because of all the downfalls from previous endeavors so I'm happy You know that we we we have this I did not expect this to be where I was in a land at all I really thought I was just going to be a technician doing this um, you know for too many years But it I quickly saw you know I spent when you're passionate about it right you're passionate about these cars Imagine you you know you get an ultimate comes in for a while change rotate low for rotate and um You know, maybe you you'd like to see some more custom things done but people are coming in Trading the cars and every two to three years. They're they're not even getting the basic air filter cabin filter maintenance They don't they don't care about that. So you're just you know stuck doing the same job over and over again And I like to change it up a little bit do some Specialized work, you know work on some projects that you know guys like some cars you probably never seen But our Nissan in orientation that have been modified extensively either by all tech or you know one of eight type of vehicle Just you know very cool concourse type of builds. I'd like to you know help these guys with that Especially when that information is just not readily available If we have the parts here some of those times we can you know directly use it as as references to see if it can be used or adapted to work on these cars because A lot of these times do pro do fit on other models without them saying they will as you probably know from experience Oh, yeah, yeah absolutely and so You know when we talk about the future You know Obviously some of these cars are gonna have been legal for as you said well over 10 15 years Where do you see the future of the rare parts going? You know once some of these items have been discontinued for 10 15 years What are we gonna do So that yeah once another another good question um once they 10 15 years goes by I guess we can kind of relate this to even even the older generations before us that We're working with more of the muscle cars We've seen you know Manufacturers get to the point where they're reproducing a lot of these OEM products to almost a very similar or surpass the standard I don't see that being always the case especially with a you know aftermarket or you know someone emerging a new product out there But with the stuff that goes discontinued that you absolutely need it's gonna be a really bad time if you specifically need those Items and I can name you one right now, you know you have other options But there's gonna be aftermarket companies coming in to try and solve these issues at a price point. That's reasonable Um, you know for instance if you were looking for our 34 is you know at headlights I've seen the full fluctuation of those from brand new when we were getting them and selling them for 1800 To be even right now in 2024 where these cars are still coming over and being legalized Those headlights aren't available the prices I've seen you know other companies now closer to six to 10,000 just for headlights It can go upwards from there But realistically this is another situation or problem that we realized if we have this ability to host these items and get them for customers and we have maybe first reference like hey this item is no longer available We we kind of have that inside knowledge So what I want to try and do and I have been doing Majority of parts that seem to be very popular as far as discontinuation is holding on to at least one or two To have that part reference information available To potentially, you know make it down the line. It's someone really needs it um, the molds are not cheap these molds can range up there extensively Even the used Japan parts that we we offer Some of the molds to produce the radio bezel, you know 25,000 just to just for the mold itself just to get that you know correct Yeah, so I think people May understand what goes beyond behind the scenes to do all this and get it right you know so that you're happy with your product If if I had to relate to anything just imagine anyone who's listening this right now at your own job all the Complex intricacies that your customers don't understand and you don't have Or the want to explain it to them because it's too complicated to the point where they may not get it or it's just too much information So I feel Like you know having those parts once again Down the line if we're going to do reproduction items which we have been slowly working on with outsiders garage Muse Japan to bring back some of these items that generally aren't available um Recently in use Japan just released there are 34 GTR spoiler the carbon spoiler. Oh, yeah, they did we were seeing you Yeah, use one you know, we're going for like five six thousands for a used 34 GTR spoiler in good condition before shipping and customs So it really helps break down That extensive cost you know on on one or two products that you know Otherwise you're going to be paying an arm and a leg for and you don't feel good about the purchase You want to be able to enjoy but not feel like hey, I can't eat for the next two weeks or um You know, I mean, I'm sure we've all been there. You know, there's times where you just I'll say you know have to wing it There's a part that you need right away and you can't make put on your credit or you can't do uh, you know Apple pay and break it down which we do allow on the website now So if you need to break it With these new items it makes it much easier for you To really to you know to be able to live and afford a car hobby It's uh, it's not easy like it used to be there were there were a lot of items That were much cheaper four or five years ago Um even last year June to july Majority of people will remember this we've seen about six hundred and sixty Needs some motor sports items that I mentioned that we're on that original list that we helped with Go up three to four hundred percent in cost So Yeah, if I had like bracket for this r34 gtr Used to cost you know 150 and now our new cost is close to the four hundred If we're gonna be still looking at making you know same margins It's gonna be so expensive. So we have to you know come down to be even competitive But ultimately the parts are still more expensive than they were even a couple years ago Um, I found out we have some you know obviously some mutual friends you spoke about it in one of your podcasts Uh, Justin Wong with the midnight purple r34 gtr the midnight purple three in Maryland and Delaware I believe Um, I've been helping him with that project for the last five years getting him all the Nissan OEM items and motorsports parts She's now don't tell everyone right but like he's thinking about getting another car another 34 and I I'm telling him The battle back car to where you want To get like this in this year You're gonna be looking at significantly more money and more a wait time or items you're just not gonna be able to touch so The state of what we got going on between you know the economy Um, the parts availability It can get dicey if you're going into these right hand drive cars know what you're getting yourself into Figure out what parts you need in advance before he can sometimes purchasing and if you can get them huge Especially if you're trying to go for like more of an OEM plus type of build you want to look good You're gonna you're gonna need that type of information before you start up planning your build up Yeah, I agree. I mean Yeah, and and you gotta think a lot of us guys like me that have a 34 still in Storage over there. We've been stacking these parts. We've been stacking them stacking them. So you know if you haven't already been doing that and you think you want one Then chances are yeah, you're not gonna get some of this stuff for sure Yeah, it's one thing to acquire the You know the car is already difficult to get the you know r34 came from Australia It was in Japan for like three years. So I mean, I'm lucky. It has like no rust. It was well taken care of over there Had to rebuild the no-nine Not so many people get as lucky when they get their cars over here. They find plenty of problems And then things they didn't inherently think they were gonna need to replace have now become catastrophic Down time on that car where they're not they're not moving, you know Unless you're you're trying to do something a little less junk or more junk at that point, but It's sometimes not worth it with use cars especially with the prices continuously going up for them. That's for sure I think Yeah, yeah, it's it's definitely become hard for the enthusiast It's it's been a hard year for Nissan as far as their sales too. So I would say it really boils down to the way the economy is really Work or not working for us at the moment for for people. So I think once once we see some change there We're gonna see once again another influx of business because these cars they're they're not going out of style I mean, they're 25 30 years old and we're still talking about them Rather than brand new cars you go you go to a car meter car event I see people walk by you know hyper cars and super cars Just to come by and talk about you know Nissan homie or a sefero or the 32 or yeah or anything the 33 I1 because there's so much more lore to it and the history is is there and each car has its own Kind of story and it's cool to find that out because we know about the cars Well, we want to hear everyone's personal story usually when it comes down to meeting our friends and people we we know online Yeah, and that's like a big part of the culture However in 2024 yeah, I got a question man. What do you think is ruining the culture right now? Running or running as is killing it ruining Um, so I've diagnosed this a couple of times I want to say you know We can we can go for the obvious these take over culture type of events where people are just going and You know causing mayhem Hurting people people were in shop people were getting ran over you know people are getting killed people Right It's the number one I want to say thing that's killing the car community as far as us being able to do what we do Um, we used to go to you know car meetups and hang out and have a good time We're able to really speak to even you know Whether it's a security guard or an officer and they would understand what we're here for we make sure we were patron At a location before Potentially, you know, just going there to destroy shit, you know I'm not I'm not doing burnouts in in the parking lots, but these guys are doing donuts. They're going crazy. So It's good. It's fun, but do it in a spot where it's controlled Um, you know, there's plenty of that at race tracks even some of the private shows that we do with timeless uh dot expo um We have certain sections where you can you can do that one these guys aren't gonna listen We know that's not gonna be the thing. So as long as they are still doing this It's gonna be an issue because they're gonna group us together with them. Yeah, um, that's the problem That's the problem. There's no way they can you know differentiate uh to tell the difference between us You know, you know, just being in the car They they you know for the most part they can all sound the same it comes down to the individual really and what they're trying to do A lot of that and this is gonna be crazy here, but that all stemmed back from Instagram all these social media apps right where you can flex your car Anything that's happening became almost an influenced or moment I used to go down to h2o You guys probably familiar with that um in Maryland and ocean city and that was an automotive like safe haven At the end of the year where every guy who was a car builder and thuzeas can get together and enjoy these cars You know almost like a holiday week. We just go down and enjoy it go to the event afterwards um Primarily, you know all Volkswagen or air cool Porsche or city's the mw type stuff um But once it got to the the point where we saw the streets line with people recording video footage and sharing it through social media It kind of was almost glorified in a way. I I don't know why I remember this, but there was a uh It was a cambered out frs or b r z. I mean it must have like negative 16 degrees of camber front and rear And a cop pulled pull them over right in front of like the tap house, which was normally a hub Or a good portion of these guys in ocean city and you know it made the video for crispy media for the h2o after movie And people glorified that because they saw something that You know had so many people interested in that car They saw it as a way of marking themselves Our egos generally are what usually control what we're doing most of the time So these guys just want to show off or flex, you know what they're what they're doing It's it doesn't really impress me. I mean, it definitely doesn't impress you guys I know you know when it comes to that stuff we'd rather Have cool sit-downs talks hang out with friends and talk about what they got going on with their builds and how we can you know Take information from one another if we're gonna go tear up the street We're gonna do it in a controlled environment if we're going to to english town to raceway park Shout at chris nap of course I'm going down there to enjoy a good time. We're gonna do it in a controlled environment So this way we're not causing Anyone else harm other people to get hurt. We're not even involved in this it just being respectful and I think A lot of people have have forgot that Yeah, they get like you said they're just getting Too caught up in in the glitzing glamor of social media which in the end actually doesn't mean anything and for 90% of us makes us zero money Like you know in that sense it's It just showing off on instagram is not where it's at especially when You can't monetize it because you're actually doing something illegal You know They not but it's true like you're not saying doing doing those things aren't cool like we all we all fucking love that right But like not everyone enjoys the same things that you do so Like do it do with some respect and if you're gonna go to an event You know someone else's event who isn't even you know Having those type of things happen at their at their shows and you go there to do that just leave just don't be a part of the scene You're not gonna be impressing them. You're just Pushing the culture further away from what it used to be I like to think You know, maybe it maybe too hard on ourselves But I like to think it's up to us to teach these kids When he's to be done, but they also have to absorb what we're saying or we're teaching them It's it's it's up to everyone to really you know do their own part, but you got to be mindful be respectful Continuing to do these type of events and meets that we host where they're in a controlled area. We have Security we have everything there for for families to enjoy That that's what we're trying to push and that's what you may have even seen with our with our friends from greasy goomba kids On their YouTube channel That's what we like to push as far as Events and car meetups. Oh, yeah, man. I can definitely and I know I can speak for Aaron on this I respect that you know kind of pushing the right way to do things as opposed to you know this kind of more I don't know dangerous. All right, so originally I'll give a little rundown the 40th anniversary stuff was about 22 23 items that motorsports Announced during their 40th um anniversary, which was September 17th of this year um, so they had a couple teasers of some items They then released them again on the 40th They didn't give us any pricing and they restricted all the items in the US. So Huge disconnects like we were saying before But they have opened it up now. So we did get pricing. They are set in motion The pre-orders are live on the website right now. So you can go there. You can place the order We're expecting items to come in from november all the way to summer of 2025 for the range of the items There's about 18 to 19 items that are currently active The LMGT4s were still waiting to get pricing on and the order appeared to open No, those are huge. I mean we we've seen I've actually had a couple orders since we've been doing this conversation It's been over about 20 to 30 orders just today on the 40th stuff since we opened the pre-order which was to the 3 p.m. Today at Eastern time and It's it's it's good to know like it's one thing to have the items right but people also trust you and We don't ever have any ill intentions to do someone wrong With their products, you know that as any other business should We're we're rooting for you guys to get these items. We want to seem come in And if we have the ability to to pre-order them make them available to you guys It just makes sense to open it up now so that you can go in you can grab these items all logo nismo stuff that you normally Don't ever see any any longer.
